IT’S NOT BLACK. IT’S RAVEN
We designed a sophisticated black-brown colour specifically for the Volvo FMX interior. And we christened it Raven. It’s less sensitive to stains, making it perfect for the construction site.

INFORMATION AT A GLANCE
The instrument cluster puts vital information front and centre, and less frequently used controls further away. Flexible switches let you choose the functions you want closest to the steering wheel.

FUNCTIONS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Several functions have moved from the stalks to the controls embedded in the steering wheel. They’re logically grouped according to function and easy for fingers to find.

LOADS OF ROOM FOR YOUR STUFF
The spacious front, under-bunk, rear and exterior storage can be tailored to your exact needs. An electric drying cupboard fits on the upper bunk or cab wall, and is a quick way to dry your clothes, towels and shoes.
There are also plenty of compartments around you for things like paperwork. The built-in birdbath on the top of the dash is perfect for odds and ends. There’s space for your pens and phone, and a USB socket. There’s even a fold-out bottle-holder.

A SUPERB STEERING WHEEL
The steering wheel adjusts easily and offers generous knee space. The ergonomic wheel design offers different grip options – so it’s comfortable all day long. And you’ve got the option of leather for a little extra luxury.

A STANDOUT SEAT
The driver’s seat offers excellent support, range and legroom, and can be adjusted 20 centimetres fore-aft and 10 centimetres vertically. You get a choice of four different upholsteries and you will sit comfier than ever.

A SMART WAY TO SLEEP
Don’t compromise on sleep just because you spend a night in the cab. The lower bed is 70 centimetres wide, features 16 centimetres pocket springs and a choice of three different firmness levels. And you can control the interior lights, alarm clock, parking heater, audio system, windows and locks, all without leaving the bunk.

Easy-to-use navigation, Dynafleet, improved communication and quality audio entertainment. Volvo Trucks’ integrated system for services and infotainment brings these features together in one interface – a seven-inch touch screen. Operate it manually, via voice commands, and through steering wheel buttons.

This system combines the cab’s audio and entertainment unit with the Dynafleet and navigation functions.

Integration of services and infotainment means they’re easy to operate. Touch the screen, hit the steering wheel buttons or use your voice. Whatever suits you best.

Navigation
The Dynafleet OnBoard is directly integrated with the navigation system. Fleet managers can send destinations from the Dynafleet web portal to the navigation.

The navigation system accepts a range of direction inputs – including addresses, coordinates or a touch on the onscreen map.

Keep your assignments on track. Stay in touch with the office. Plan driving and resting times, and let Driver Coaching help you become more fuel-efficient. The system and all its functions are integrated with the navigation in the driver interface.

A powerful sound package
Get access to Deezer or TuneIn and stream your favourite audio entertainment. Switch on the DAB radio. Connect via USB, AUX or Bluetooth to your smartphone or tablet. Then, six speakers and a power output of 4×35W give a robust sound experience. You can add more speakers to your system to make playback even more perfect.

Voice activated
A seven-inch touch screen provides easy operation. You can also control the functions via buttons on the steering wheel, or with your voice. Two Bluetooth connections also mean that you can connect two devices at the same time – perhaps your work mobile and your private phone.

Electric parking brake
Engage it with an easy-access dashboard switch. It’ll also activate automatically when you switch the engine off, and release when you take off.

More than a key
Lock or unlock the cab from a distance. Turn on the lights so you can approach safely. And if you feel threatened, push the panic button to blast the horn (optional item).

Electronic climate control
Set a preference and the electronic climate control keeps the cab temperature just where you like it.

Audio options
Mp3, wma or iTunes m4a? CDs, USB stick, iPod? Anything goes.

Interior lighting
Thirteen energy-efficient and powerful light sources illuminate the cab. Lighting is easily controlled, either with three pre-set options or with the dimmer. When you’re driving in the dark, you can even switch to red lights to enhance your night vision.

Clean water, anywhere
Need clean water? The exterior compartment holds a seven-litre tank, which comes with a handy tap.

Volvo Torque Assist is a new software program included in the upgraded engines, designed to help the driver to operate their vehicle more fuel-efficiently when not using cruise control. The result is that any driver is able to achieve a high level of fuel-efficient driving regardless of their experience and expertise.

In addition, a number of hardware upgrades have also been implemented, to cut fuel consumption even further.

You need a driven front axle. But our research shows you only need it 2–5% of the time. At all other times, you’re wasting fuel. Automatic Traction Control helps you maximise fuel efficiency. When you don’t need the extra traction, the system automatically disengages the front axle, reducing the amount of fuel you use.

I-Shift maximises performance and efficiency by monitoring and responding to vehicle mass, road inclination, speed and acceleration. Coupled to a Volvo diesel engine, it reduces fuel consumption by up to 5% compared to a manual gearbox.

I-Shift has also been reinforced and upgraded to match the needs of severe duty applications. It’s now standard on all axle configurations, including trucks with a driven front axle.
